Thygeson Superficial Punctate Keratitis
- Photophobia, tearing, burning, foreign body sensation
- Blurred vision
- Chronic and recurrent, usually bilateral but may be asymmetric
- Small elevated oval corneal intraepithelial, white-gray opacities extend along entire corneal surface
- mild conjunctival injection but may be absent
- mild mucoid discharge possible
- no association to systemic disease.
Etiology
- Adenovirus, herpes simplex virus, and varicella zoster virus, have all been implicated but not proven
